Say hello

Missed-call text back for Kansas City small businesses

Missed a call? They get a text in a minute.

When you can’t pick up, the caller gets a text from your business within a minute asking what they need. You call back already knowing the job, instead of losing them to whoever answers first.

  • About $50/mosoftware, in your name
  • 1–2 weeksto set up
  • Your numberusually stays the same

The same missed call, two ways.

A caller who reaches voicemail often just calls the next place.

Without it

Voicemail

  1. Call goes to voicemail. No message left.
  2. They call the next plumber on Google.
  3. You see a missed call from a number you don’t know.

The job went to someone else.

With it

Text back

  1. Call missed. Your text goes out within a minute.
  2. They reply with the problem and the address.
  3. You call back knowing the job, and book it.

Booked for 4pm.

What you get

A text reply within a minute to any call you can’t answer
A different reply after hours
A way to book or describe the job, right in the text
Replies land on your phone, so you see who called and why
No replies sent to numbers marked as spam
“Reply STOP to opt out” in the first text, as the carriers require

Not sure it fits?

Say hello. A 15-minute call is usually enough to tell, and every price is agreed in writing before any work starts.

How it works

About 1 to 2 weeks, including the phone carriers’ approval for business texting.

  1. A 15-minute hello. We look at what phone you use and what happens today when nobody answers.
  2. We register your business for texting with the phone carriers. Nothing can be sent until they approve it.
  3. We write the replies in your voice: one for opening hours, one for after hours. You approve them.
  4. We connect your number and test it with you from another phone, during hours and after.
  5. We keep it working. If texts stop sending, fixing it is on us.

We take care of

  • Setting up the replies and keeping them working
  • The texting registration paperwork with the carriers

You take care of

  • Your business details for the registration: legal name, tax ID, address
  • Calling or texting back the people who reply
  • The software fee, paid directly in your name

Not included: Answering calls live. This only texts people whose call you missed.

I ran a bakery and meal-prep business in Minneapolis for years, and I know how easy it is to miss a call in the middle of a rush. A caller who reaches voicemail often just calls the next place.Omar, ohelloo

Questions

Do I need a new phone number?

Usually not. Either your own number is set up to send texts, or calls you don’t answer forward to a texting number. Customers keep calling the number they already have. If the text comes from a different number, it says clearly that it is from your business.

Does it answer my calls for me?

No. It only texts people whose call you didn’t pick up. Calls you answer ring through exactly as they do now, and we test that too.

Why does it take a week or two?

Phone carriers make every business register before it sends automated texts, and texts sent before approval get blocked. Waiting for that approval is most of the time.

What does the text say?

Something like: “Hi, it’s Sunrise Plumbing. Sorry we missed your call! What’s going on, and what’s the address?” We write yours in your words, and you approve it before it goes live.

How much does missed-call text back cost?

About $50 a month for the software, in your name and paid by you directly, plus one flat setup price we agree in writing once we know your phone setup. It also comes in every package, starting with Launch at $249 a month with no setup fee, which puts every call, form and message in one list too.
